Live Buttercream Challenge Rules and Regulations
- Use Entry form to sign up. You will be notified no later than Wednesday, November , 2026 whether you have been selected to compete or not. Those not selected will be on a standby list.
- There will be three (3) competitors selected by the Challenge Committee.
- The challenge committee will supply two (2) 8″ round cake layers, buttercream icing, all tools, one (1) table and one (1) chair per challenger.
- No additional equipment may be brought to the challenge.
- Electricity is not available.
- The Challenge starts at 1:30 p.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2026. It is your responsibility to leave the work area as you found it.
- More than 50% of the cake must be used in the final display.
- All entries in bad taste will be disqualified and removed.
- Entries will be judged on interpretation of the “America’s 250th Anniversary” theme, neatness, use of techniques, use of color, and cleanliness.
- Spectators may not coach or offer advice during the challenge.
- The judges’ decisions are final.
- The winner will be announced and prizes presented during the awards ceremony, which begins on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
